Contemporary outcomes of pediatric restrictive cardiomyopathy: A single-center experience
Pediatric Cardiology Dec 15, 2018
Wittekind SG, et al. - Researchers analyzed 43 subjects (mean age 11 ± 9 years) to define the results of pediatric restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM) who were listed for recommended heart transplantation (HTx). Fourteen cases received HTx. They observed RCM subjects were more expected to be enrolled and undergo HTx compared to RCM/HCM. Adverse effects like arrhythmia and cardiac arrest were inspected whereas, some were given mechanical circulatory support and device therapies. They noted that heart failure and arrhythmia treatments could delay or perhaps limit the demand for HTx in some pediatric RCM cases.
