Consumption of nuts and seeds and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma risk in the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition
International Journal of Cancer May 26, 2019
Obón-Santacana M, et al. - Researchers assessed the risk of developing pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) in relation to nut consumption (including seeds) in the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) study. They estimated hazards ratio and 95% CIs by using Cox proportional hazards models. A total of 1,283 PDAC cases were included. According to findings, nut intake was not related to PDAC risk. The analysis of different subgroups generated no evidence for effect-measure modification. Overall, no statistically significant association of the highest intake of nuts with PDAC risk was evident in this study.
