Conservative thickness layers in Mohs micrographic surgery

International Journal of Dermatology May 29, 2018

Tolkachjov SN, et al. - Experts ascertained the utility of conservative thickness layers (CTL) in Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS) and reviewed patient and tumour characteristics and the potential anatomic locations where this technique could be most useful. Findings suggested an effectiveness and time-saving nature of CTL taken as the first stage in MMS in the properly selected patient and anatomic location, leaving wounds in optimal condition for granulation with a low complication rate. More reconstructive options could be allowed by tissue sparing.
