Pinto-Proenca R, et al. - Experts coveted an investigation of the association between clinicopathological features and tumor expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) to prognosis. They also gauged its usefulness as a possible prognostic marker. Data revealed a possibility of higher COX-2 expression serving as a negative prognostic factor in conjunctival melanoma. For the determination of the potential use of anti-COX-2 drugs as adjuvant therapy of this disease, additional exploration was warranted.
