Concurrence of rheumatoid arthritis and calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease: A case collection and review of the literature
Seminars in Arthritis and Rheumatism Dec 06, 2017
Sabchyshyn V, et al. - This study offers detailed information regarding the characteristics of patients with concurrent calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease (CPDD) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Findings demonstrated that diagnosis of CPDD was often preceded by the diagnosis of RA. Notably, when considered conjointly, this asynchronous presentation, the classic age of onset for CPDD and typical pattern of joint involvement supported the presumption that CPDD develops in RA patients through similar processes as those that cause the idiopathic forms of this disease.
