van der Aa AAMA, et al. - In this trial, researchers assessed the value of a three-dimensional (3D) greyscale transrectal ultrasound (TRUS)-guided prostate biopsy system. They also determined the biopsy core pre-embedding method on concordance between the Gleason scores of needle biopsies and radical prostatectomy (RP) specimens. The Gleason concordance was not improved by the 3D TRUS-guidance with biopsy core pre-embedding. For the recognition of low-grade disease upgrading, improved detection techniques were required.
