Clinical Rheumatology Jan 11, 2019
Deshayes S, et al. – In this study involving 49 participants, researchers identified the clinical characteristics and outcomes of giant cell arteritis patients with concomitant malignancy and compared them to control individuals. The investigators recorded 33 solid neoplasms and 16 clonal hematologic disorders, and noted two study participants with a contemporary decline of both conditions. They also observed that males with GCA had an altered general state and polymyalgia rheumatica and were more prone to show concomitant malignancies.
