Computerised training improves cognitive performance in chronic pain: A participant-blinded randomised active-controlled trial with remote supervision

Baker KS, et al. - In view of the reduced efficiency of cognitive performance in association with chronic pain, researchers trialled a computerised cognitive training protocol to determine if it could reduce cognitive difficulties in a chronic pain sample. Findings supported the utility of a supervised cognitive training method for enhancing cognitive skills in persons with chronic pain. Activities perceived as relaxing or enjoyable may contribute to an improved perception of well-being. For successful program completion, weekly contact seemed pivotal.
