Computed tomography perfusion derived blood-brain barrier permeability does not yet improve prediction of hemorrhagic transformation

Horsch AD, et al. - Researchers evaluated the added value of blood-brain barrier permeability (BBBP) estimations to known clinical and imaging variables that predicted the risk of hemorrhagic transformation (HT). Collected evidence revealed that BBBP predicted HT. However, it did not improve prediction of HT with age and admission National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
