Aoki T, et al. - This study intended to shed light on the long-term safety and efficacy of balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) in patients with inoperable chronic thrombo-embolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). With acceptable complication rate, BPA afforded improved haemodynamics and exercise capacity in this patient population, moreover, beneficial haemodynamic effects persisted for years with resultant good long-term prognosis.
