Comprehensive analysis of a new prognosis signature based on histone deacetylases in clear cell renal cell carcinoma
Cancer Medicine Jul 30, 2021
Cheng F, Zheng B, Wang J, et al. - Studies describe histone deacetylases (HDAC) family as vital for tumorigenesis and tumor progression. Researchers herein investigated the exact role of the HDAC family in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). The expression profile, clinical significance and prognostic value of HDAC family members were investigated and validated in ccRCC based on The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC), and The Human Protein Atlas (HPA) database. In addition, the correlation was examined between HDACs and tumor microenvironment, tumor stemness, drug activity and immune subtype. Findings suggest potential clinical value of the HDAC8, HDAC10, and HDAC11 for prognosis, and the correlation analyses reveal underlying molecular mechanisms. In this Integrated bioinformatics analysis, based on transcriptomics and proteomics, HDAC8, HDAC10, and HDAC11 are suggested as possibly valuable molecular biomarkers and therapeutic targets for ccRCC.
