Todsen T, et al. – The researchers intended to examine the diagnostic accuracy of surgeon–performed head and neck ultrasonography (HNUS) as well as to establish the validity of an objective structured assessment of ultrasound skills (OSAUS) used for competency–based assessment. They found evidence that supported the use of the OSAUS scale in order to evaluate HNUS competence in terms of good reliability, significant discrimination between US competence levels, and a strong correlation of assessment score to diagnostic accuracy.
