Comparisons of percutaneous vs retroperitoneoscopic cryoablation for renal masses
International Urology and Nephrology Jul 24, 2018
Liu HY, et al. - Researchers compared outcomes of percutaneous cryoablation (PCA) vs retroperitoneoscopic cryoablation (RCA) by using preoperative and postoperative parameters among patients with renal tumours at two medical centres, where 63 patients received PCA and 45 patients underwent RCA from August 2009 to July 2015, and they were followed up until February 2017. Findings corroborated the safety as well as the efficacy of both cryoablation methods (PCA and RCA) for renal cell carcinoma. Additionally, for renal tumour size ≤ 4 cm, favourable oncological control was provided by both treatment approaches.
