Comparison short time discharge with long time discharge following uncomplicated percutaneous coronary intervention for non-ST elevation myocardial infarction patients
BMC Cardiovascular Disorders May 20, 2019
Wang G, et al. - In this retrospective analysis of 1,424 consecutive non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) patients who had non-complicated percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), researchers assessed if 30-day net adverse clinical events were influenced by short time discharge post-non-complicated PCI in these patients. There were 432 patients discharged early (< 24 hours) and 992 patients discharged routinely. They found that in the long-time discharge group vs the short-time discharge group, the incidence of crude 30-day net adverse events was 11.6% (115/992) vs 8.6% (37/432), respectively, although this variation was not significant after ps matching. Findings revealed the feasibility as well as the safety of short-time discharge after non-complicated PCI in NSTEMI patients.
