Li WF, et al. - Among patients who received trans-catheter (TC) or surgical pulmonary valve replacement (PVR), better PVR function was found to be associated with TC PVR vs surgical valves among those aged <17 years. Furthermore, following surgical but not TC PVR, a transient decline in right ventricular (RV) function was noted. Overall, TC PVR was recommended as the first choice for children who are considered for PVR, whenever possible.
