Comparison of tumescent local anesthesia vs normal anesthesia technology in upper blepharoplasty in Asian women
Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Jun 25, 2021
Lin Cao, et al. - In the present study, the researchers sought to systematically compare the differences between conventional local infiltration anesthesia and tumescent local analgesia (TLA) in blepharoplasty. One hundred and seventy-eight bilateral upper blepharoplasty patients took part in this study. The patients' postoperative pain was assessed using a visual analog scale. TLA use in upper blepharoplasty reduced surgery duration, postoperative pain, and ecchymosis and erythema generation when compared with normal anesthesia technology. As a result, TLA is appropriate for performing anesthesia in blepharoplasty.
