Małczak P, et al. - Researchers performed a systematic review and meta-analysis according to the PRISMA guidelines to assess currently available literature on totally laparoscopic D2 total gastrectomies. Morbidity and short-term complications were the primary outcomes of interest. Of the 3,073 articles identified in this search, they included eight studies covering 1,582 patients in the quantitative analysis. As per findings, the laparoscopic approach for D2 total gastrectomy seemed not increasing the morbidity. Besides, a shorter hospital stay could be achieved with this approach.
