Comparison of the vaginal microbiota in postmenopausal black and white women

Hudson PL, Ling W, Wu MC, et al. - Vaginal microbial communities in postmenopausal Black and White women were compared. Researchers performed comparison of shotgun sequencing of vaginal swabs from postmenopausal women self-identified as Black or White using MiRKAT. Per findings, Black and White postmenopausal women exhibit small overall differences in vaginal microbial communities. Black women more frequently exhibit L. crispatus dominance.
