Comparison of the effects of the temperature of intratympanic dexamethasone injections on vertigo

Ata N, et al. - Researchers studied 54 patients who had undergone intratympanic treatment due to sudden hearing loss and tinnitus to compare the improvement in vertigo when the dexamethasone used in the intratympanic (IT) injection was applied at body temperature or at room temperature. Reduction in vertigo due to IT was noted within minutes. IT drugs administered at body temperature vs administered at room temperature were related to lower temporal vertigo due to injection.
