Obesity Reviews Mar 19, 2020
Borgeraas H, et al. - Via searching MEDLINE, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials for studies published between database inception and November 21, 2019, researchers contrasted the impacts of Roux‐en‐Y gastric bypass (RYGB) and sleeve gastrectomy (SG) on remission of T2DM. Of 2,650 records identified, 12 records from 10 different randomized controlled trials were finally involved. After 1 year, RYGB resulted in a higher rate of T2DM remission vs SG. The T2DM remission rates in the 2- to 5-year follow-up studies were no different.
