Comparison of the effect of radiation exposure from dual-energy CT vs single-energy CT on double-strand breaks at CT pulmonary angiography
European Journal of Radiology Feb 09, 2018
Tao SM, et al. - This research was designed to compare the effect of dual-source dual-energy CT vs single-energy CT on DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) in blood lymphocytes at CT pulmonary angiography (CTPA). Following dual-source and single-source CTPA, DSB was increased, while dual-source dual-energy CT protocols did not increase the estimated radiation dose in patients undergoing CTPA. In addition, dual-source dual-energy CT protocols did not result in a higher incidence of DNA DSBs among these patients.
