Harris RC, et al. - Researchers sought to compare and assess the postoperative complications associated with open and endoscopic gastrocnemius recession approaches. This was the first study to compare the postoperative complications between these 2 techniques. The significantly lower incidence of postoperative complications was seen in the endoscopic group, emphasizing the benefit of using the endoscopic approach. While addressing gastrocnemius equinus in those with a greater risk of postoperative complications, these findings could prove invaluable.
