Comparison of somatosensory cortex excitability between migraine and “strict-criteria” tension-type headache: A magnetoencephalographic study
Pain Apr 27, 2018
Chen WT, et al. - Researchers enrolled consecutive patients with tension-type headache (TTH) and age- and sex-matched patients with migraine and healthy controls to determine if TTH and migraine are comparable in brain excitability change measured by magnetoencephalography. Outcomes revealed TTH and migraine to be different clinical entities in light of the somatosensory cortex excitability. TTH and migraine could be differentiated via the preactivation excitability assessed through somatosensory gating.
