Comparison of single-incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy vs needlescopic cholecystectomy: A single institutional randomized clinical trial

Umemura A, et al. - A prospective, randomized clinical trial was planned to assess the surgical outcome, postoperative pain, and cosmetic outcome for single-incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy (SILC) and needlescopic cholecystectomy (NSC) procedures. In terms of short-term incisional pain, NSC was superior to SILC. Both SILC and NSC could be performed by experienced laparoscopic surgeons without an increase in operative time.
