Comparison of short-term outcomes for connective tissue disease-related interstitial lung disease and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis after lung transplantation
Journal of Thoracic Disease Apr 08, 2018
Park JE, et al. - In this single-centre retrospective study, outcomes were compared between patients with connective tissue disease-related interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD) or idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) who underwent lung transplantation at a tertiary hospital in South Korea between October 2012 and October 2016. Compared with patients with IPF, patients with CTD-ILD were younger and were less likely to be male. For CTD-ILD, the 1-year cumulative survival rate was 80.0% and 59.6% for IPF. Similar incidence of primary graft dysfunction was reported. Similar survival rates were reported for both groups of patients who underwent lung transplantation.
