Prostate Cancer & Prostatic Diseases Nov 02, 2021
Liu J, Zhang J, Yang Z, et al. - RS-RARP was better than C-RARP in terms of postoperative continence recovery.
Different results have emerged in studies comparing C-RARP and RS-RARP.
A meta-analysis following PRISMA guidelines was conducted to compare the two approaches.
RS-RARP was statistically significantly beneficial for continence recovery immediately post-operation, after 1 month, after 3 months, after 6 months and post-12 months, with respective ORs of 0.40, 0.17, 0.18, 0.26, and 0.50.
For operation time, intraoperative blood loss, length of stay, positive margin rate and complications, no significant differences were observed between C-RARP and RS-RARP.
In addition, no significant difference in sexual function recovery rates was found between the two procedures.
