Comparison of retroperitoneal and transperitoneal robotic partial nephrectomy for Pentafecta perioperative and renal functional outcomes
World Journal of Urology Oct 25, 2017
Stroup SP, et al. - A comparative scrutiny was performed of the quality outcomes between transperitoneal (TRPN) and retroperitoneal robotic partial nephrectomy (RRPN). Similar quality outcomes were reported by TRPN and RRPN, despite RRPN offering potential, modest benefit for operative time and displaying utility in posterior tumors. It was found that the correlation of increasing RENAL score and decreased baseline eGFR with lack of Pentafecta was indicative of the dominant role of non-modifiable factors.
