Comparison of recurrence between pancreatic and duodenal neuroendocrine neoplasms after curative resection: A single-institution analysis
Annals of Surgical Oncology Jan 12, 2018
Masui T, et al. - Researchers here evaluated the clinicopathologic characteristics of pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (PanNEN) and duodenal neuroendocrine neoplasms (DuNEN). In addition, they assessed the risk factors as well as the recurrence types after resection. They noticed that most initial recurrences of PanNEN occurred in the liver, whereas those of DuNEN appeared in lymph nodes. This suggested the necessity for proper diagnosis of the primary site and appropriate imaging methods for surveillance after resection.
