Comparison of plasma/serum levels of procalcitonin between infection and febrile disease flare in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus: A meta-analysis

Liu LN, et al. - A meta-analysis is performed to compare the plasma/serum levels of procalcitonin amongst infection and febrile disease flare in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. Based on these outcomes, no significant difference is noticed in plasma/serum procalcitonin (PCT) levels between systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients with flare and SLE patients with infection. However, plasma/serum PCT levels are significantly higher in Asian SLE patients with infection.
