Comparison of plasma and intrapulmonary concentrations of nafithromycin (WCK 4873) in healthy adult subjects
Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy Sep 09, 2017
Rodvold KA, et al. - authors aimed at comparing plasma and intrapulmonary concentrations of nafithromycin (WCK 4873) in healthy adult subjects. The concentrations in the plasma, epithelial lining fluid (ELF), and alveolar macrophages (AM) were measured following repeated dosing of oral nafithromycin at 800 mg once daily for 3 days. Findings revealed sustained ELF and AM concentrations for 48 h after the third dose which suggested the potential of nafithromycin as a useful agent for the treatment of lower respiratory tract infections.
