Comparison of PET/MRI with multiparametric MRI in diagnosis of primary prostate cancer: A meta-analysis
European Journal of Radiology Apr 02, 2019
Li M, et al. - For detection of primary prostate cancer (PCa), researchers compared the diagnostic performance of positron emission tomography (PET)/MRI using various radiotracers with multiparametric (mp) MRI. For this meta-analysis, 9 eligible studies were identified that included a total of 353 patients. There was no noticeable bias in publishing, but the results were of medium heterogeneity. The meta-regression analysis displayed the major potential cause of heterogeneity was the use of region-based instead of lesion-based analysis. According to findings, PET/MRI has excellent diagnostic performance and outperforms mpMRI for primary PCa diagnosis.
