Comparison of ozone and lidocaine injection efficacy vs dry needling in myofascial pain syndrome patients
Journal of Pain Research Jul 12, 2018
Raeissadat SA, et al. - Researchers sought to determine the efficacy of ozone injection (OI) in myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) patients, compared with that of two currently used methods, lidocaine injection (LI) and dry needling (DN). They performed a single-blinded study including a total of 72 eligible patients who were randomly divided into three equal groups: DN, OI, and LI. In short-term follow-up, all three methods were noted to have significant efficacy in MPS treatment. However, compared to the DN group, OI and LI groups displayed slightly better results, with no remarkable preference between them.
