Comparison of low density and high density pedicle screw instrumentation in Lenke 1 adolescent idiopathic scoliosis

Shen M, et al. – In this current study, clinical, radiological and Scoliosis Research Society (SRS)–22 outcomes of low density (LD) and high density (HD) pedicle screw instrumentation were compared in Lenke 1 adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) patients. Findings demonstrated that in these subjects, both low density and high density pedicle screw instrumentation achieved satisfactory deformity correction. However, use of low screw density constructs provided decreased implant costs and reduced operating time and blood loss.
