Comparison of image quality between split-filter twin beam dual energy and single energy images in abdominal CT
European Journal of Radiology Nov 27, 2019
Niu Z, et al. - In this prospective study, 103 people were imaged using twin-beam dual-energy (TBDE; n = 51) or single-energy CT (SECT; n = 52) in order to contrast the objective and subjective image quality between composed images from split-filter TBDE and SECT in abdominal CT. Compared with conventional SECT, the TBDE scan mode could produce comparable or even better objective and subjective image quality at the same level of radiation. Quantitatively, depending on the size of the scanned body regions, TBDE images have a 7–17% decrease in noise.
