Comparison of gray matter volume between migraine and "strict-criteria" tension-type headache
The Journal of Headache and Pain Jan 19, 2018
Chen WT, et al. - This study is planned to investigate whether tension-type headache (TTH) and migraine are similar in brain morphology. As per findings, TTH and migraine are separate headache disorders. Different characteristics in relation to gray matter (GM) changes were evident. The relative GM decrease of the prefrontal and cerebellar regions in migraine is identified as the major morphological difference between the two, which may reflect a higher allostatic load associated with this disabling headache.
