Comparison of extracorporeal shock-wave therapy and wrist-extensor splint application in the treatment of lateral epicondylitis: A prospective randomized controlled study
Journal of Pain Research Aug 12, 2018
Aydın A, et al. - Researchers compared the efficacy of extracorporeal shock-wave therapy (ESWT) and wrist-extensor splints (WESs), the two commonly used methods in the treatment of lateral epicondylitis. They performed a prospective randomized controlled study including 67 patients, divided into two groups: group 1 received ESWT (32 patients) and group 2 received WES (35 patients). They observed significantly superior results compared to pretreatment values with both ESWT and WES applications. This work yielded no statistically significant difference between the two groups.
