Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain Sep 03, 2019
Hajjarzadeh S, Nikniaz Z, Shalilahmadi D, et al. - Since there is some proof that a high diet quality may help effectively manage migraine, researchers tested the premise that the diet quality of women with chronic migraine (CM) may differ from women with episodic migraine (EM). Based on the International Classification of Headache Disorders-III, 116 women with chronic and 169 women with episodic migraine (25-55 years old) were enrolled from the neurology clinics of Golestan hospital in Ahvaz (southwest Iran). Using the Healthy Eating Index-2015 (HEI-2015), the diet quality of individuals was calculated. Data revealed that the mean HEI score in women with CM was significantly lower vs women with EM. According to this cross-sectional study, the diet quality of women with CM was lower than that of EM. In addition, CM was associated with women's HEI score significantly and inversely.
