Comparison of conventional 2D ultrasound to MR imaging for prenatal estimation of birth weight in twin pregnancy
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology Oct 19, 2017
Kadji C, et al. - The objective of this study is to prospectively compare the assessments of fetal weight based on 2-dimensional US (US-EFW) and MR imaging (MR-EFW) to actual birth weight in women carrying twin pregnancies. The outcome of this study suggests that the MR-EFW performed immediately prior to delivery is more accurate and predicts SGA neonates significantly better than US-EFW in twin pregnancies. As compared to ultrasound, prediction of birth weight discordance is better with MR imaging.
