Kaka AS, et al. - The intention of researchers was to investigate the correlation of alcohol abstinence with postoperative outcome in alcohol misusers undergoing major surgical procedures of the head and neck. It was inferred that an alcohol abstinence program for surgically treated patients was safe. It appeared to be effective in reducing morbidity as well as in improving the outcomes.
