Comparison of clinical and radiologic outcomes and second-look arthroscopic findings after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using fixed and adjustable loop cortical suspension devices
Arthroscopy May 11, 2019
Ahn HW, et al. - Researchers examined 79 patients who underwent anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction using 2 different femoral cortical suspension devices (fixed and adjustable loop; 41 patients in fixed loop group (EndoButton) and 38 patients in adjustable loop group (TightRope)] for their clinical and radiological outcomes, including tunnel widening, and regarding graft status using second-look arthroscopy. Outcomes revealed that in ACL reconstruction, both fixed loop and adjustable loop devices led to good clinical and radiological outcomes. No significant differences after ACL reconstruction were noted in femoral tunnel widening at proximal and distal portion among patients with both devices. Furthermore, no significant differences in terms of synovial coverage and rupture of the graft were identified in second-look arthroscopy.
