Comparison of bronchodilator administration with vibrating mesh nebulizer and standard jet nebulizer in the Emergency Department
The American Journal of Emergency Medicine Nov 04, 2017
Dunne RB, et al. - In this study, researchers compared bronchodilator administration with vibrating mesh nebulizer (VMN) and standard jet nebulizer in the Emergency Department (ED). They observed fewer admissions to the hospital, shorter length of stay in the ED and a reduction in albuterol dose with VMN. They recognized that the device type was a predictor of discharge, disposition and amount of drug used. Randomized controlled studies seemed required to confirm these findings.
