Comparison of analgesic effect of oxycodone and morphine on patients with moderate and advanced cancer pain: A meta-analysis
BMC Anesthesiology Sep 28, 2018
Guo KK, et al. - Researchers compared the effects of morphine and oxycodone, in terms of their relative tolerability and underlying results, as analgesics in patients with moderate or advanced cancer pain. They performed a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) identified from PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane library, and inclusion criteria were met by seven RCTs. The investigators did not observe any statistical differences in analgesic effect between oxycodone and morphine as first-line therapy for patients with moderate to severe cancer pain.
