Comparison of 1-year outcomes after Ahmed glaucoma valve implantation with and without Ologen adjuvant
BMC Ophthalmology Feb 22, 2018
Kim TJ, et al. - For the treatment of refractory glaucoma, the researchers compared 1-year outcomes of Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) implantation with and without Ologen adjuvant. Ologen-augmented AGV (OAGV) surgery led to encouraging results in the study group, specifically with respect to the achievement of complete success and the reduction of the number of intraocular pressure (IOP) lowering medications during the early hypertensive phase. Moreover, an occurrence of the early hypertensive phase predicted which patients would require IOP-lowering medications at postoperative 6 months and 1 year.
