Comparing suture with n-hexyl cyanoacrylate glue for mesh fixation in inguinal hernia repair, a randomized clinical trial
American Journal of Surgery Nov 11, 2020
Tofigh AM, et al. - Researchers compared therapeutic outcomes of mesh fixation with suture vs N-Hexyl cyanoacrylate glue in inguinal hernia repair with the Lichtenstein method via performing a two-arm parallel-group randomized controlled trial with blinded patients. They included 58 hernia cases who were candidates for hernia repair with the Lichtenstein method and randomly divided them into two groups. Findings revealed lower postoperative pain and duration of surgery in correlation with mesh fixation with N-Hexyl cyanoacrylate glue in hernia repair with the Lichtenstein method and this product might be utilized as a substitute for suture.
