The Laryngoscope Apr 25, 2019
Agarwal J, et al. - In this retrospective case series, the short-term outcomes of treatment of vocal fold polyp (VFP) cases with voice therapy alone (VT), surgery alone (SUR)m or voice therapy and surgery (VTS) was assessed in 120 participants. In 115 patients, they observed no recurrences. They found a significant improvement from pre- to post-treatment VHI-10 scores in the SUR (mean improvement = 12.5, standard deviation [SD] = 12.7) and VTS (mean improvement = 12.3, SD = 10.3) groups vs the VT (mean improvement = 2.84, SD = 11.9) group. No significant short-term changes were noticed with voice therapy alone.
