Following tonsillectomy, dietary restrictions were believed by most otolaryngologists. Nonetheless, regarding posttonsillectomy dietary advice in the literature, a controversy was seen. Moreover, they focused on only a few randomized clinical trial on this subject. Regular diet and cold/liquid diet did not differ in terms of posttonsillectomy pain and bleeding. Therefore, a limited posttonsillectomy diet was not recommended.
