Comparing a novel hand held device (Peritron+) to standard urodynamics in measuring intravesical pressure
Neurourology and Urodynamics Oct 16, 2017
Ruzhynsky VA, et al. - This research undertook a comparative investigation of the Pves recorded by standard urodynamics (UDs) with those recorded by the Peritron+, in calculating the intravesical pressure. An accurate estimation was yielded of the Pves at different intravesical volumes, through Peritron+ handheld device when compared to UD measurements. The Peritron+ presented as a simple and safe device, which could be used in the office by a clinician and at home by a patient to monitor Pves. It would assist in selecting patients possibly requiring standard UD re-evaluation. Hence, it would serve as a promising instrument in the management of patients with neurogenic and nonneurogenic bladders, who were at a risk of upper urinary tract deterioration.
