Merrill RK, et al. - A comparison of all-cause 30-day readmission rates between patients undergoing tibiotalar fusion vs total ankle replacement was performed. As per findings, patients who received a tibiotalar fusion were more likely to experience a 30-day readmission during the short-term period following discharge from the hospital. These findings seem relevant for decision making when encountering a patient with end stage ankle arthritis.
