Comparative study on medical utilization and costs of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with good lung function

Lim JU, et al. - The experts undertook this study to assess the treatment status of patients with early chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Korea. In the result, they found medical resource utilization and medical costs per person for patients with early COPD in Korea increased. Findings revealed that asymptomatic patients with COPD represented by the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) group did not receive adequate long-term treatment compared to relatively symptomatic patients, and need more clinical attention from physicians.
