Comparative study of buffered 50% glycolic acid (pH 3.0) + 0.5% salicylic acid solution vs Jessner's solution in patients with acne vulgaris

Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Nov 29, 2017

Jae JI, et al. - This study was designed in order to inspect the treatment efficacy and safety of chemical peeling using buffered 50% glycolic acid (GA) (pH 3.0) + 0.5% salicylic acid (SA) solution that did not need to be neutralized in the treatment of acne vulgaris than the conventional peeling using Jessner's solution. The results unveiled that chemical peeling using the 50% GA (pH 3.0) + 0.5% SA solution could be as effective and convenient as the conventional peeling using Jessner's solution in the treatment of acne vulgaris. It possibly illustrated fewer adverse events than the conventional peeling.
